Few tips for your next small business event

Successful events require more time and effort than one might imagine. The Event Planner team has been behind the organisation of numerous business events over the past years. The following tips have been learnt from experience.

1.Prior to planning event, decide on your target audience – the initial step before you go ahead with your event must be your targeted audience. Make sure you know who your target audience should be.

2.Make a list of details and budget – When organising an event, all items involved are pieces of a puzzle. Identify all the required items such as lighting, sound equipment, transportation, entertainment, catering, photography, videography, parking and any other important part of your event. It might be easiest to jot down all the items and list their prices to create an initial working budget.

3.Know your limitations – Your goal is to deliver a memorable event for your guests. To do so you need to know exactly what the expectations are. It is essential that expectations are reached or exceeded. So know your limits when setting expectations.

4.Detailed marketing plan – having a detailed marketing plan will help you disseminate information about your event to the right audience at the right time. If you have a pre-set list of people, make sure you allow enough time for RSVP and follow-up.

5.It is crucial to be fully committed to the event. Keep in mind that the event will only be a success if you can dedicate a lot of time on it. If you do not have the time, make sure someone can assist you.

6.Create a special something. Make sure that you have a climax in your event. This is the point where expectations are met and exceeded. This is usually achieved by means of a surprise – whatever that might be.
