Read More >The Office Christmas Party – you either dread it or you’re eagerly ticking off the days on your candy cane print calendar. Either way, it’s the end of the year and everyone deserves a good old fashioned romp to toast the year. Keeping the theme fresh keeps everyone on their toes and makes your Christmas party an event everyone in the office is going to look forward to.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Party is bound to be a hit with everyone after something more akin to an anti-Christmas. The Tim Burton Classic is beloved by many and makes for an interesting theme to work with come the holiday season. Costume and decor ideas give you the unique opportunity to create unholy Frankenstein creations by combining your leftover Halloween and Christmas decorations and just going to town.
The Murder Mystery Party – This one is for the more participative groups, imagine a game of Cluedo but played in real life. At the beginning of the night everybody is given a character which they must play for the duration of the evening. One party guest has been murdered and it’s up to everybody else to figure it out as well as for the murderer to evade suspicion. Murder Mystery scripts are easily found online and downloaded, usually grouped according to number of players, add a few flamboyant costumes and a few rounds of eggnog, the murder mystery is sure to be an amusing evening.
The Santa Hat Game (less of a full-fledged party and more of a movie night/ extended drinking game) is more of a laid back alternative for the office that prefers a nice snack spread and an excuse to do shots. The game itself is very simple, first you pick a movie (Die Hard remains a timeless Christmas classic), then you acquire a Santa hat and place it on one of the corners of the television. When anybody on the screen “wears” the hat, voila, everybody down your drinks or take a shot, and repeat.
