An event planning job might appear as easy to many but it is far from that. It implies working long hours, having to be constantly connected, knowing how to bargain prices in your client’s favour and make sure all your customers are happy, among many other nitty gritties. 1. You will get to meet a lot of people

When you’re an event planner you have a large database of contacts and suppliers, many of which you will work with so often that they become your friends. Moreover you get to work for a variety of interesting clients that will most definitely make the planning of their event a task that is even more fun.

2. You’ll be working and often unpredictable hours

While normal full time jobs are from 9AM-5PM, an event planner’s job can take much longer than that and many a times it also takes over their weekends as well. However, the satisfaction is all in seeing an event you planned running smoothly and ending successfully.

3. Traveling is part and parcel

Whether going abroad to meet a foreign client or driving around locally, being an Event Planner will require you to be mobile. You will need to go out of the office very often and meet your clients and suppliers face to face.

4. Connectivity is key

The phone won’t stop ringing and the e-mail inbox will almost always have a list of unopened e-mails to attends to. Add toggling social media to that and you’re pretty much set.

Despite possibly appearing as a hard and stressful job, it is one that will bring you a whole lot of satisfaction. And the best part? No one event is like the one before it!
