Make your event a historical one!

The Maltese islands have a very interesting history due to the multitude of emperors and powers that for a short period of time ruled the islands and used it as their fortress. This resulted in the building of many fortresses and palazzos around both Malta and Gozo, some of which have been turned into venues for events. Below are some of the most esteemed venues on the islands!

Castello Zammitello
This 19th century building located in the outskirts of Imgarr Malta is said to have been built as an imitation of the tower of London. The castle that was initially built by the family as a romantic retreat is now being used to host weddings, staff parties and sometimes even sports events.

The Casino Maltese
Previously used as a place where to keep accounts, contracts and record of the treasury by the order of St John’s, Casino Maltese has now been turned into a place where the noble meet. Apart from the large hall that meets you as soon as you enter, the casino hosts different smaller halls decorated with paintings, as well as a ballroom and a dining room.

The National Library
Malta’s national library located in Valletta is not simply used as a national repository of information, but also a fantastic cultural asset both in its architecture as well as in all the historical archives and collection. However, the library is also open to host exhibitions and various educational debates.

Fort St Elmo
Built by the knights back in 1552, St Elmo used to guard both Marsamxett and the Grand Harbour. The recently refurbished fort now hosts the National War Museum. Boasting a large courtyard and a parade ground, this fort can host many top notch events that will leave your guests astonished by its history.

Fort St Angelo
Having played a great part in defending the city of Vittoriosa, fort St Angelo has gone through a lot of changes throughout history and in fact parts of it are still under restoration. However the grand rooms of the fort can be used to host events that include tours and a lot of historical recounts.
